Coordinating Center Clients Honored
--Young People Recognized by the HSC Foundation--

Seven clients of The Coordinating Center were recently selected for special recognition by the HSC Foundation of Washington D.C. through its acclaimed LEAP program.  The Coordinating Center joins the Foundation in congratulating these ourstanding young people:

  • Banjeh Bah
  • Brenden Bonneau
  • Tacarla Brown
  • Timeka Brown
  • Cierra Dudley
  • Bellah Morfaw
  • Hope Watson

Each of these Coordinating Center clients received Rising Star Leap Awards from The HSC Foundation. LEAP (Life Enrichment Awards Program)  is one of two premier awards programs offered by the Foundation. This is an individual life enrichment program that is currently focused on young people with disabilities transitioning to adulthood. LEAP makes awards to young people who are transitioning to the next phase of their lives — to high school, college, or work.  To be eligible, recipients must reside in the Washington DC metropolitan area and be working toward realizing their dreams in spite of having disabilities.

Each of these young people were honored at a banquet sponsored by the Foundation at the Kennedy Center in Washington.  Prior to the banquet, each person received a lap top computer along with appropriate software, supplies and peripherals through the LEAP funding.  Staff members from Care Coordination and Information Systems divisions of the organization facilitated the award applications and the computer installations.
