The Coordinating Center Announces the Retirement of a Legacy Leader and Appoints Internal Successor for the Medical Legal Services Division

Millersville, MD – January 8, 2025— After 40 years of dedicated service, Nancy Bond, Senior Vice President, Medical Legal Services retired at the end of 2024. Nancy’s career at The Coordinating Center has been marked by her pivotal role in the organization’s growth, from her early work as an educator and rehabilitation coordinator for children with special health care needs, to her significant contributions in case management for medically fragile individuals. She was instrumental in the development of The Center’s Medical Legal Services division, specializing in life care planning, and played a key role in expanding the division’s services to individuals with complex care requirements.

“Nancy’s dedication to The Coordinating Center extends beyond our mission, fostering a culture of excellence.  She played a key role in leading our first URAC accreditation process in 2000, a distinction we have proudly maintained ever since. While Nancy’s expertise and guidance will be missed, her legacy will continue to inspire the team and the field of life care planning,” said Dr. Teresa Titus-Howard, President and CEO, The Coordinating Center.

Nancy has earned national recognition for her expertise and groundbreaking work in life care planning, inclusive education, and care management. In November 2024, Nancy was honored virtually with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Academy of Life Care Planners, recognizing her profound impact on the field. Nancy will continue her work with the Medical Legal Services division as a Life Care Planner/Consultant.

We are pleased to announce that Susan Guth has succeeded Nancy as Director of Medical Legal Services, effective January 1, 2025. Susan, who has been with The Coordinating Center for over 21 years, brings extensive experience in medical social work, care management, and life care planning.
