Millersville, MD – February 24, 2026 —For the second year in a row, The Coordinating Center has been recognized with the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health at the Gold level by Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health, well‑being, and illness prevention. The 2026 recognition underscores The Coordinating Center’s sustained commitment to fostering a workplace culture where employee mental health is prioritized, protected, and supported.
The Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health is the nation’s leading recognition that evaluates and awards employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces. Only two in five employers nationally meet the standards for recognition. Since the program’s launch in 2019, Bell Seal recipients have strengthened policies and practices supporting the mental health of more than 5.1 million employees nationwide.
“Earning the Bell Seal at the Gold level for a second consecutive year affirms that our commitment to mental health is not a one‑time achievement, but an ongoing responsibility,” said Teresa Titus‑Howard, PhD, MSW, MHA, CCM, President and CEO of The Coordinating Center.
“We are intentional about building a culture where coworkers feel respected, supported, and empowered to care for their mental health — because doing this work well starts with taking care of the people who do it.”
The Coordinating Center’s approach to workplace well‑being includes a comprehensive set of supports designed to meet coworkers where they are and evolve with their needs, including:
- Employee & Family Coaching: Unlimited, free coaching sessions for employees and their families addressing mental health, substance use, and family support, in partnership with Youturn Health.
- Leadership Training & Support: Ongoing leadership development and regular one‑on‑one engagement that encourages transparency, trust, and open communication.
- Zero‑Tolerance Policy for Discrimination & Bullying: An anonymous reporting platform to ensure concerns are addressed promptly and respectfully.
- Comprehensive Mental Health Benefits: Robust health insurance coverage for mental health and substance use services, including psychotherapy, psychiatry, dual‑diagnosis treatment, and telehealth options.
- Work‑Life Balance: Flexible work arrangements and a culture that actively encourages the use of paid time off to support mental health and overall, well‑being.
- Inclusive Workplace Practices: Continuous efforts to address structural and cultural factors that impact mental health and belonging.
“This recognition reflects the intentional choices we make every day to support our coworkers’ well‑being,” said Erica Bostwick, Vice President of Human Resources at The Coordinating Center.
“Scoring particularly high in areas like holistic wellness and caring beyond compliance tells us that our efforts are resonating — not just on paper, but in how people experience our workplace.”
